Extended ResponsesA long response, very often compare and contrast, that answers the question in detail. The question normally has multiple parts, so you need to organize your answer into 3-5 paragraphs. You a need an introduction with a topic sentence, body paragraph(s) with lots of detail, and a conclusion to wrap your answer up.
Opinion WritingA text that supports you point of view with reasons and information.

Constructive ResponsesA short response (usually a paragraph) answering a question in detail. Always have a topic sentence and refer back to the text you read.
Informational WritingRefers to facts or the process of something (directions). It informs your reader of what something is about or how to complete something. This type of writing is nonfiction.
Persuasive WritingA form of writing that persuades the reader to take a certain action or opinion according to your argument. It tries to make others feel the same way you do about a topic.
